Inside the national park we find one of the most incredible sunken ships in the region, the C-56 Juan Escutia shipwreck, the perfect place for lovers of diving into history. This ship lies at a depth of about 30 meters and is home of eagle rays, fire worms, barracudas, swordfish, porcupine fish and a wide variety of corals and sponges.
Inside the jungle, north of Puerto Morelos, is the cenotes route, a path where several cenotes extends; there you can enter in its fresh crystalline waters to dive and snorkel. If you have the opportunity to dive, you will be amazed by the submerged landscapes that you can find: stalactites and stalagmites hundreds of years old preserved under these waters.
Due to its proximity to Cancun and Playa del Carmen (Only 30 minutes in car ride), Puerto Morelos is in the best location, you can reach these great destinations to continue your diving expedition and visit sites such as the Museum of Underwater Art (MUSA) in Cancun, Isla Mujeres, or continue your way to the south of the peninsula and dive on the Island of Cozumel, explore cenotes such as Dos Ojos, el Pit, Angelita and Casa Cenote.
